Primary War Tactic
The Testudo(The Tortoise): The Testudo were the ancient Romans' signature war tactic. Roman soldiers would huddle together in either a rectangle or circle formation and hold their shields in front and on top of themselves to form a mobile wall where they could rush the enemy without getting damaged. This would also be a great distraction allowing other soldiers to flank the enemy and could even serve as a mobile structure allowing Romans to throw javelins and retreat behind the Testudo.
